MarshallBTB
Want to add a bridge j pickup to my Nate Mendel P Bass, anyone near me / any recommendations ? I'm in Leigh on sea, Essex. Would rather not post the bass or anything so the nearer the better. Thanks in advance!
Lozz196
Not sure how far Stevenage in Herts is from you, prob an hours drive or so, but Terry Chapman, TJC Guitars is pretty good. Our very own Gary Mac does set-ups etc, not sure if he does routing for pickups but may be worth a try, he`s in Hoddesden, Herts.
TheGreek
Somebody's bound to recommend Bernie Goodfellow in Brighton. Another vote for Terry Chapman...

Dan Dare
Before cutting holes in your Nate, would it be worth selling it as is and looking for a PJ? If you mod' it, it may well reduce the re-sale value (modification usually does). The Mexican Fender PJs can be picked up quite reasonably second hand.
Grangur
FWIW I'm with @Dan Dare on this. Find another PJ. At least you should get a PJ and find out if this is really what you find hits all the buttons. Also, check if the p pup on your current bass is in the same position as tbe neck pup on a pj. I suspect that on a pj its closer to the neck.

I've just compared my Mex PJ with my Bitsa (which uses a Squier body, so I assume it uses the same spacing as a full fat Fender) and the p pickup is in the same place on both.
