drlargepants Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 Well having sold my AVRI 62 P and feeling rather sad about it. I decided the best thing to do was buy an AVRI Jazz. Found it on a Facebook group at a decent price so off I went to take a look It’s in pretty much brand new condition complete with the plastic on the plate and pegs. It does need a setup and the board needs oiling desperately, however I’m rather pleased with it ! Just need some flares now. Aint she pretty ?! ;-) 1 Quote
Misdee Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 These are very nice basses. The narrower-than-usual nut width seems to make the fat neck more playable. The '74 Jazz pickups are fantastic, too. I notice that Fender are offering these pickups as a separate item now. This range was recently discontinued and it will be interesting to see what Fender replace them with, if at all. Quote
drlargepants Posted January 13, 2018 Author Posted January 13, 2018 Annoyingly I chipped the headstock on it within 12 hours of owning it. Gutted the neck is very deep back to front, much deeper than my Geddy Lee. It’s actualy very similar to th neck on my Ric. Quote
drlargepants Posted January 13, 2018 Author Posted January 13, 2018 I do love the look of the covers. Not exactly pratical though. They’ll probably come off. Quote
drlargepants Posted January 13, 2018 Author Posted January 13, 2018 Argh, you can see the chip if you zoom in on that photo. Im so bloody angry about that. Quote
Cuzzie Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 Get some rocks and stones out and bash it, may as well make it a full relic now..... Quote
drlargepants Posted January 13, 2018 Author Posted January 13, 2018 Lol ! Well at least I got it out of the way early. The locking strap lock on my Ric sheared off internally and the bass nose dived into the ground. That was a source of much cursing. Quote
