krismpos
I got a set of Pyramid tapewood nylons for my jazz fretless and it's really LONG. The thing is that I've been told that cutting nylons may result in unwinding of the strings. Does anyone has experience with this?
project_c
I cut my D'Addario tapes regularly to fit my Precisions, never had issues. Can't comment on Pyramids but they shouldn't be any different. If you happen to have a cat, watch out for the cut off bits that go flying off, it's like crack to them for some reason.

krismpos
I emailed Pyramid and they responded early in a Monday morning! However, it seems like their English is worse than mine Quote Best is to make a sharp bend and then cut - yes, could be that the outer wrap wire winds up. Really best is to cut after fixing in the tuning pegs
aguacollas
Pyramid tapewounds are very different than d'Addarios. I have cut them on the silk area, but I wouldn't cut them on the regular zone of the string. Maybe you could bend the string, cut carefully and apply a drop of cyanoacrylate glue to keep the tapewound from leaving the core of the string. On the silk zone you can cut it without any problem, though.
