A friend of mine, a great player in fact, has a tatty, yet functional 410 SWR Goliath cab that he wants to see land in the hands of somebody or maybe an organisation for struggling players that would otherwise have not got access to gear...

Please don't see this as an opportunity to bag some free gear to flip for a profit... or a way of getting gear that won't actually make any significant difference to your life. Lets do the right thing and find it a home where it can get used and help put a smile on people's faces.

He's Birmingham based and willing to drop it off if local.

Any ideas?

I was in a similar position with a guitar combo I wasn't using. I gave it to a nearby pub who run a regular open mic that is particularly welcoming to newbies.

There was a thread here some time back from someone who was running a youth-club (do we even say that anymore?) looking for stuff. I‘ll try and find it....

I help at a youth club (since the council pulled the funding 2 years ago) , yep still called Youth Clubs and they are always in need of equipment.

Just on the off-chance (and with apologies for going OT), is there a woman called Deb involved in running it?

Don't know - there's lots of people there.

A guy called Peter is the over all boss, but then there are dept heads for the various instruments and the like.

There's the HQ in town, but then they also run Saturday morning centres all across the county using schools as the venues. I play at one of them every Saturday.
