dave_bass5
Since i got my new P5 ive noticed i have to have the low B a bit higher than my E. Fair enough as its bigger but on my 55-01 its about the same, maybe a bit lower than the E. Could this be to do with the 35" vs 34" scale? They are different strings (Chromes on one, Nicks on the other) but the 55-01 feels a bit easier to play because of this. The reason im asking is that ive always had the E and G the lowest with the A and D slightly raised, following the fingerboard radius. If thats the case shouldn't the B be lower than the E? Maybe i just need a good set up but as its Sunday and im bored i thought i would ask how you guys have yours set.
Mr. Foxen
I have low As, but I find the general floppynesss is more pronounced and requires it being a bit higher relavtively to the others. I cut the nut a bit higher also.
6stringbassist
I have all my strings the same height ie. they're level along the top as you look at them, the fingerboard is flat. I find it helps with my right hand playing with them all being the same height. All the strings are about 1.5 to 2mm of the neck at the 12th fret, I do have a very light playing style. Exile252
I have my string getting higher the lower they go. If I put my B any lower it was buzz like mad. Also, they all have the same distant relevant to the size of the string to the fret board.
dave_bass5
Cheers guys. I guess mine is about right then. Actually i just realised that i have a light set of G-E and a medium B so i guess that might be why it seems a bit out of place. There arent a matched set. Still plays well though.
