Thunderpaws
Hi, just had this pop up via FB. https://www.andertons.co.uk/chapman-ml1b-dave-hollingworth-signature-bass-in-quicksand-mlb1-dh-qsd Looks pretty sweet!
CobiaMatt
Was really looking forward to seeing the 5 but I must say I'm disappointed, But...... Loving the FF
HowieBass
Hmmmm, looks like a cross between a Spector and an Ibanez. The description for the pots doesn't match the photos (text says two stacked pots but there's only one).
NJE
I saw the sneak peaks of these on Instagram and got excited, I thought they had sorted out the ugly headstock. They have to an extent but the rest of it is still pretty ugly IMO. Sure the build will be great and it’s a lovely finish but for that kind of money I would be looking at the Dingwall NG3 for my fanned fret needs. burno70
Looks like a Shuker headstock on a Warickesque body. I don't mind the form factor but that moldy cheese-looking burst effect is awful.
thegummy
"When I was offered the chance to design these basses with Chapman Guitars I was first shocked as it was something I never thought I'd have the opportunity to do." Don't know why he's shocked, as the bassist in Chapman's band, it was obvious he'd get a signature bass. 1

Take out 'Chapman Guitars' and insert any other brand and that is pretty much the standard quote for a press release for nearly every signature guitar or bass ever made.
visog
Look pretty good to me... would like that FF in a 5... They'll have to go some to beat out Ibanez's range currently.
bigsmokebass
The MLB1-5 Pro for sure... otherwise, did someone say Ibanez? I'm thinking for the price as well, the signature bass seems good for those active 5 stringers out there who want multiscale and something between ibanez/Warwick basses but is it that good in comparison to some of the Ibanez' out there already? AndyTravis
Like a Warwick Thumb had a baby with an ibanez premium sr. thats no bad thing - not too metal either.
Musicman20
Nah. Just get an Ibanez.

bigsmokebass
Wouldn't mind the MLB1-5 Pro though, it's just in that price bracket there are other basses I'd be tempted more to purchase. Definitely be worth trying one though, I've heard so many good reviews of Chapman Guitars (better since the Chinese ML I once owned [practically firewood])

MattBanshee
Looks generic and values itself too highly; therefore it's a great fit for the Chapman name. 3
