Something brand new. Heavily programmed, but to me, still has a great feel. Joel Culpepper.

I love music like this - I think it's damned hard to play such a sparse line and stay in the pocket.

I gave it 1:15; I really don't see the interest at all. -_-  (Disclaimer, I'm an old grump, and could never dance for toffee even when young :$...).

Please give up listening to any new music that gets posted on here, and regurgitating the same opinion every time. It really is getting quite boring.

Awesome. Im not sure who is on bass.

This is on the Lenny White album 'Present Tense'. It's a cover of the Bernard Wright tune.

It's a great album with a whole host of top players on it. Bass on this is Marcus Miller I think.

How many bass players make their mark from the first note? A string-bend at that! This is a silly track but that groove is for days.

It's Nearly nine minutes long, but worth a listen.

One of the best Rock cover versions I've heard in a while. Just my opinion, of course. :D

One of my local radio stations just played this, what a great old tune

Yeah, I've always like this track and Melba Moore is great..!!

The terrific Wayne Brathwaite is the Bassist.

If anyone is interested, below is a link to the notated, transcribed line (including a Tab version). Martin Tanzer did the transcription.

His transcriptions are free to download. But, you can donate if you like.

Enjoy, it's spot on.

Thanks for that lowdown, I didn’t know who the bassist was but it really stands out throughout the song, I’ve added it to my, to try and play list 👍

I think I've posted this on here before, possibly twice, but anyway it ought to be a compulsory weekly thang.

Altogether different but oh my good god, funky as feck...
