Me, my mate and the DJ were the only ones in there. Fortunately he played some early Al Jarreau, first time I'd heard him. Did get to see MM and AJ another time! 1 Quote

I saw them over at The Half Moon a couple of times and up Ronnie's as well. Some great players passed through that band. 1 Quote
casapete Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 I saw MM at Dingwalls in Hull in 1983. Didn’t know much about them, but went due to their having most of the Average White Band play on an early album. Great gig as I remember, Jim Mullen particularly good on guitar. 1 Quote

I think he was called Noel but cant remember his surname. Jim Mullen inspired me to throw away my guitar pick as he used to play with his fingers. Edited February 4, 2021 by Barking Spiders 1 Quote
songofthewind Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 Ah, Jim Mullen playing a Telecaster with his fingers. What a sweet, sweet sound! 1 Quote

That was Noel McCalla...This live video below, he starts singing at around 03:45. Sadly, only Noel and drummer, Neil Wilkinson, are still alive. Edited February 4, 2021 by lowdown 1 Quote
