alembic1989
I'm looking for some pots with 10 detents, for use on bass or g****r. 250/500k. Does anyone here know of a supplier? thanks in advance. Edited January 29, 2018 by alembic1989
brensabre79
I've never seen one of these. I think they would be a specialist item / custom order. But depending on what you're trying to do, I've had some success with rotary switches and small preset pots - albeit with less than ten positions. I was trying to get the best of both a pickup blend knob and a pickup selector switch. i.e. instant recall but with more options. IN theory, the same could be done for volume / tone. mybass
Didn’t Status basses use this type of multi detent pot? Edited January 30, 2018 by mybass
KiOgon
@ alembic1989 Are you thinking of the 'click washer' ayatem used under the tone knob on the Fender '60 stacked Jazz controls? Edited January 30, 2018 by KiOgon
verb
Trace Elliot used multi detent pots on their amps, they were made by Alpha Taiwan. I would look at RS components or the other online electronic component suppliers.

I'll look into it thanks, it's seems difficult to find ones suitable for mounting onto a scratch plate, and of correct value.
alembic1989
The reason I'm asking is that I have an instrument fitted with Alan Entwistles ATN system, and some of the pot settings are 7,8,9 (or other) on the pots..I wanted a neat accurate and quick way of dialling in those tones. BigRedX
Is this to replace an existing component? If so I'd get in touch with the manufacturer of the guitar in question and ask them where they got them from. I know you've said that you want a potentiometer specifically, but with 10 detents there's not going to be a lot of room for positioning the wiper between the detents, so how about a 10 way rotary switch with resisters of the appropriate value soldered to each position? It's to replace 3 standard pots. The 10 way rotary switch is a good idea but I don't think it's going to be possible to get 3 10 way rotary switches and fix them to the scratch plate ..and also they would require me to re rout the control cavity.
