Jarhead
Anybody ever modified a wah pedal to a volume pedal? If you have, or you know how, could you tell me how, because a volume pedal would be more useful then a wah to me. Zach
Mr. Foxen
Stolen from here.
Lifting the earth connection of the 4.7µF capacitor will cancel the wah effect and leave you with a volume pedal. The '70s Jen Wah-Volume pedal also switches in a 4K7 resistor and 0.22µF cap in series across the 0.01µF "sweep cap", to prevent the tone becoming thin.
Jarhead
Right, just had a look inside it, and the only capacitors I see are a 100µF and a 2.2µF. Which is the one I need to take the earth off? Zach
Mr. Foxen
I just quoted it. I don't understand it.

robert43
My son had a cheap no name wah ( guitar) what I did was to take away the pcboard & just use the 3 legs off the pot . On the pot 1 outside leg went to earth from the - input jack and the -on the amp jack , the middle leg went to the + on the amp jack , the other out side leg went to the + on the instrument jack. Just goe to s&d web site & look at wiring 1 volume no tone basically thats it You just have to make sure it the volume goes the right way ie toes on it full volume heal no volume Hope this helps Edited November 22, 2008 by robert43
Mr. Foxen
Pretty sure the pot doesn't go all the way round in the motion of the pedal, so it might no go between 0 and full, maybe 0 and 2/3. Leaing the circuit there means its active rather an passive, which should give you boost as well as cut or something.
