Anyone ever noticed this guy on Ebay? Normally has a large collection of vintage items, always few photos, always taken with something like a sheet underneath the item & a camera angle from the bottom end of the instrument up.

As you can see from the listing above he charges huge prices for non originals. Eg that Fender has had a refinish & various parts changed!! £4250!

Yes, he's well known. He's given me a few laughs over the years though, so entertainment value is there. Most of his gear seems to be expensive garbage so I hope he hasn't taken money from less discerning buyers...

Similarly, this Rick 4000:

I own one of these myself. Hardly any original parts left on this one. Been listed for months now, can't think why it's not selling. :)

Lol why do people bother doing this!

Anyone spotted the £19k Strat lol. Warn with non original parts again lol.

Wonder what he does with the strings as well, missing on most of the items.

If you look at their feedback the vast majority of their business is parts. My theory is they use the crazy over-priced guitars as cheap advertising. Not only are they constantly visible in the listings, they also get the occasional free plug from one of the guitar or bass forums.

And every so often they sell one.

I bought a few bits from these if its the music outlet shop, they never arrived, everytime I emailed him to ask about them he just said the English posties were thieves and it was tough. In the end I had to get my money back through paypal. He refused to provide proof of postage and just basically told me to F off. the guy is a joker

IMHO, he's charitably given a home to some of the doggiest, sad-arsed, most butchered and angle-grinder-rip-saw bastardised instruments I've ever seen.

And for this, he deserves our thanks. But not necessarily our money.

That said, I just scrolled through his shop list today, and there are actually some interestingly bizarre offerings (actually in one piece) - just about 50% more than I'd want to pay....

Yep not very original  but he does say its a thru neck which places it mid 70's or before, just incase someone is stupid enough to be interested :)

I thought the one that just sold at £685 was pricey. :)

About five or six years ago he had a bog-standard 90s Fender, fitted with an original, all maple, 81/82 G&L neck - from an L1000. The P'bass was in terrible nick, but he was asking £900. I emailed him to see if he would sell the neck only, and he quoted me £800.

Maybe he still has the hollowbody Rickenbacker bass, totally wrecked - and by that I mean in pieces - no hardware, but asking well over a grand - £1,600 rings a bell.
