AndyTravis
Having made a lucky purchase of a body/neck of a Bbass for £15 about 18 months ago, I kept my eye out for one in good nick. Ive recently got one which is a more recent model (rough guess 99/2000) as the preamp is housed in the cavity - not the upper bout. anyhow it’d say unused for a while - the battery it came with expired in 2005 and it was dusty. it’s pretty much unmarked and apart from a minor split emanating from the tuning peg screw, there’s nothing to indicate it’s had a hard life. i May be upgrading the machine heads to Gotoh units (I did have some spare but flogged them - stupid me...) so will resolve the headstock issue then, it’s not moved in the years it’s been dormant so can’t see it getting worse. strung it up with some silly light strings, polished the frets and tweaked it - surprising how low you can get the action on these. the sound is odd, very focused. And a few squirts of servisol have sorted the bass/treble knobs which seemed a bit clogged. Im not playing much at all, and I keep mumbling about moving more gear on. So I’m not committed to keeping my 3 or 4 recent acquisitions...but I will say this one is very good fun.
paul_5
I had a B Bass V (5 string version of this) for years and loved it; gigged it up and down the country and it never let me down. Great piece of kit!
