gjones Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 I'm in the market for a new Precision and came upon these two beauties. I'd never heard of this series before. Both basses are made in Mexico and are selling for around £880. I really like the look of them.....very pretty. Quote
LeftyJ Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 That Precision with black binding and dots looks really nice! I like the Jazz too, but that Precision really is something unusual! Quote
LewisK1975 Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Yup, I like that Precision! Not seen / heard anything about these!? Quote
Lozz196 Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 I know that I really like the look of these, plus they`re made of ash, so more in-keeping with 70s Fenders. Quote

Yup, 70's neck profile, 7.25" radius, dots/bound, natural, black pickguard. What's not to like? I know I'd be all over that if I was in the market for a precision.. Quote
Pea Turgh Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Do they come with authentic 70’s build quality too? Quote

But I don't need one, really I don't.... Will Karlfer be able to resist though, I wonder! I've a feeling these might be right up his street..... Quote
Linus27 Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 I bought the 70's Precision at the weekend and it is gorgeous. I bought it as a back up to my Fender 75AV RI but its so nice I might use it as my main. It comes with Fender vintage pickups as well so sounds amazing. Quote
Trueno Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 I'm tempted by the Precision... the woodiness is very appealing. Quote
gjones Posted February 8, 2018 Author Posted February 8, 2018 I tried the 70s Precision today and it was very pretty and very well made. It wasn't set up very well though. I also tried a Precision deluxe, with the P and J pickups, plus pre amp. That was set up beautifully, right out of the box, and had the sound I have been looking for. I have the feeling I will be buying it, once I've checked out the Fender Precision Elite. It's a P/J with a pre amp and £1,000 more expensive (I doubt it will sound £1,000 better than the MIM deluxe though). Quote
Cato Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 It's only early February and I 'm pretty sure that 70s Jazz is going to be next years bass purchase. Quote
