la bam
Does anyone know if this is suitable for bass? Is there any tweaking needed etc? Absolutely nowhere near me has the spectracomp, but plenty have this pedal.
weefunkateer
I got one to replace the Spectracomp on my general board as found the Spectracomp was harder to control volume-wise live when switching in/out and coloured my tone too much no matter which Toneprint I tried, and the editor was a bit too much for me as well I've still got the Spectracomp for use where I want the tone colouration though AKA crazy slap break o'clock! Plenty of folks on here dig the Spectracomp though so YMMV but I found a very transparent Toneprint for the Hypergravity Mini, and having 3 knobs instead of 1 means I can quickly tweak live so suits me better. So in short, yep it works for bass! Just depends what you need it for though.
la bam
Im after replicating what i use the compressor on my markbass amp for but for walk in gigs which is just balancing the strings, nice volume control and no change in sound quality. weefunkateer
Whicher TC you go for you’ll have to experiment with Toneprints from your phone - I didn’t like the default settings in Spectracomp or Hypergravity but found a decent transparent Toneprint for Hypergravity... not sure which one though! Dood
I have both, they are super cool but I tend to write my own TonePrints using the TonePrint app on my iPad. (USB connected). I can tell you that HG is great for Bass and I've found that I like being able to configure the three knobs to specific functions (not what the labels say they do, for example)

Can you set it with a high ratio so it works like a limiter, using a TonePrint? 20:1 or more? (Just realised you’re talking about the mini but I’m on abiut the normal sized which takes battery power)
la bam
After all that the shop didnt have one in stock. So after big consideration ive ordered a spectracomp. I like the idea of the one knob so i dont mess my settings up, and the amount of toneprints available. Should receive it on monday.
