Pop ups aaaaaaaargh

Despite disabling notifications in the notification settings (and saving my preference), I still get the annoying little pop-up at the bottom of the screen every time someone posts on a thread to which I've added a comment. Anyone know how to stop this? It's driving me up the wall.

You have everything set to "immediate notification" on everything you follow.  Which I expect is on everything you've posted in.

You'll need to change your "follow" settings : https://www.basschat.co.uk/notifications/options/?type=new_comment

And historically stuff that you've followed : https://www.basschat.co.uk/followed/

I think that should change the "pop up" but if not i'll dig a little deeper and see if there's a way to disable it for you.

Thank you. I see, on opening the notifications section, that the default is to send notifications/pop-ups on every thread and that you have to disable this individually on every one if you post on it. There is no global disable option. That's a faff. Think I shall be a lot more circumspect about using this forum in future. Cheerio all.

On this screen uncheck these two boxes in that case

If such an inconsequential thing as pop-ups annoys you to the point of driving  you from the forum you must indeed lead a charmed life.  Heaven forbid anything important happens to you!

IMO it's one of the improvements of the new version of the site. It takes a couple of seconds to dismiss the pop up and having a look at the new posts before actually posting your own can be useful at times.

Thanks. Have done that and checked the "do not send me notifications" box and it makes no difference.

You'll have to manually unfollow any threads you participated in before you unchecked those boxes.
