dodge_bass
Hi all, I am off on tour with my Ukelele bass later on this year and it Is going to involve at least four separate flights. I need to get a flight case built for it as there seem to be non-available on the market that fulfil this purpose. Does anybody have any recommendations of makers / companies That would able be able to do this without costing an arm and a leg? In reality I’m thinking about something similar to a Hiscox case but for ukelele bass. Anyone got any thoughts?
dand666
Mono have just released a Uke case, that may work?
dodge_bass
Great shout but I don't think so. I've emailed them about bass uke cases and if not then I'll ask them about these uke cases....usually the headstock / tuners are too big for them to fit into uke cases....we'll see! Thanks for your input
TheGreek
Dimensions? I paid £20 for a 70x30x8cm pedal case recently which I think would suit your needs. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pedal-Board-Case-Electric-Guitar-Effects-Pedalboard-Carry-Flight-Black-ABS-/173111780496?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=Pv%2BJdpl8X%2FfHx8cWvOsCXrdZ0ig%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc Edited February 15, 2018 by TheGreek

No joy with Mono - their uke cases don’t fit and they wouldn’t tell me if they were intending to release a uke bass one.

It’s too delicate and not easy to repair / replace if damage did occur en route.
Matt P
Not the cheapest option but what about a peli case with a custom foam insert? these guys offer a few options for custom cases as well as custom foam inserts for peli cases and dave cases (their own brand peli type cases) https://www.thecasefarm.co.uk/ another option might be these guys who build flightcases to order and I believe can do the custom inserts as well, the cases will be super tough but not as light as the dave/peli option http://www.flightcasewarehouse.co.uk/ if it was me i'd probably go for one of these https://www.thecasefarm.co.uk/shop/dave/dave-800/ with a custom cut or homemade insert, I think you would have a fair bit of space for di boxes and strings/straps etc as well, it would possibly also work as a hard shell case to take the bass in a gig bag with di boxes etc and some clothes as padding which might cancel out a separate hold bag for shorter trips.
