Hartke vs Peavey...

Well, that was an intersting discussion - thanks for all the replies. I plumped for the Peavey. It arrived last night - a quick go reveals - well, its a bass head! A good range of sounds, and even something pretty close to the TE pre-shape sound that normally I use. Got to say that the sub harmonic generator function is crap! They even say in their user manual that bass is a complex waveform ..blah blah blah.......so in other words preparing you for the fact that it does not work well! It did not track the played note at all well - sounded great when it was in tune (1 octave lower), but it just kept jumping to different notes (presumably picking up on the "complex waveform" and choosing to track a different frequency!). But its just a gimmick, and I had no plans on using it really (unless it worked exceptionally well and gave a fantastic effect), so I won't loose any sleep over it. I'm looking forward to giving the 450 a work out with the band though!

No. But you could if you spent a bit more and got the LH1000, as that has 2 500 watt power amps.
