Female bass Players? How many do you know of in UK?

About 10-12 years ago I used to gig around Southampton a fair bit. There was one female bassist I remember because she played an MM Sub and I was gassing for a Sub at the time.

Can't for the life of me remember her name or her band's name but I think she worked at Paultons park which I thought was a hoot. I'm not much help, sorry!

Paultons park or Southampton? Not sure what the music scene is like in Southampton these days but it was fun playing venues like the joiners, talking heads and Hamptons back in the day. Digression, apologies.

On my Instagram feed there's a bassist called bass.etta.ros. She's not been playing long but she seems to have immersed herself in playing live. Got a few followers for a newbie bassist.

Ah, how could I forget lovely Mandy. What hoot she is. And a great player.

+1 to that - incredibly versatile & technical when she wants to be too - we played loads of gigs with a bizarre proggy 3-piece she was in years ago. Awesome player. B|

I'm completely confused now... :-D

you called Mandy a hoot above, and I, unaware of the advertising history of Paultons and its use of "hoot", assumed Steve Browning had missed his quote

@Steve Browning apologies, my lack of knowledge there, you were not wrong at all.

No apology needed at all. I expect Paultons Park adverts were fairly regional and I'm along the coast at Portsmouth.
