dmccombe7
Having tried Ashdown amps few years back and not taking to them i had always ruled them out as a viable option when buying amps. Last night in Rehearsals the studio had an Ashdown 550 head into a Behringer 8x10. To be honest i wasn't looking forward to this. Plugged in and with the amp flat i was really taken aback. It had a nice tube warm sound with plenty of depth and i didn't even need to adjust the EQ at all. During a break tho i experimented a little with the EQ and found it had very little effect on the tone. No real prob as i was using an active PJ if needed. Have to say its kind of left me wondering about Ashdown amps again. Every days a school day i guess and its always wise to try everything you can and never rule out an amp until you try it.
