john_the_bass
I have a Diago gigman. I am generallt very pleased with it, however the biggest issue I have is that is has that 23mm lip around the edge, which means that it's difficult to put anything that doesn't have in/out jacks at the height of something like a Boss or Marshall pedals for example - which means that if you want to start your chain with something in a Hammond enclosure for example, you can't put the plug over the top of the lip, so you need to leave a gap. I know the position you put your pedals on your board doesn't necessarily dictate the order that you have to connect them up, but it helps I think, particularly if you want a neat board. So with that in mind, who makes good pedal board/case solutions, without a lip around the edge, that don't have a huge big case to keep them in (the depth of the gigman for example is ideal) and isn't too small or too big - the gigman is a good size, pedaltrain jnr is a bit small and the hardcase looks a bit big. The Warwick/Gator boards look a bit pap, so any recommendations for a good, well priced board, would be welcome Cheers
dannybuoy
Pedaltrain 2 with a soft case? Also, if you've never actually seen one, the Pedaltrain Jr is bigger than you might think it is from looking at pictures on the web - does me fine and holds my 8 pedals. Dangerboy squeezed 13 onto his, but he crazy.
john_the_bass
I'd prefer a hard case, just because it offers that bit more protection, plus I don't want to have to remove the board from the case when I want to use it. I took the measurements of the pedaltrain jr off their website and it comes up smaller than the gigman, which I can just about fit 9 pedals on
BassJase
I've just ordered one of the Stagg pedalboard/hardcase thingy, and for £30 it looks pretty ideal for my needs. A bit too much "lip" at the edges, but for that money its all good in the hood.

Get ready for a Bassman-style pre-amp, an SHO and a Hermonic Percolator in one box the size of a Barge pedal. Three switches. Dainty feet. john_the_bass
Think I've found an NYC pedalboard which seems to be exactly what I need
wizbat
I found a solution to my pedal board requirements when I built my GCX rig a couple of years ago.. I think there is still a build diary bit on this site somewhere
Soulfinger
the biggest issue I have is that is has that 23mm lip around the edge
Of course, you could use a piece of wood as a riser. I did that because my Rockbag case has the same issue - cut some spare wood I had lying around (20 mm thick) to the right size for my Sansamp DI, velcroed it and voílà. Tidy, cheap and removable. john_the_bass
I did think about that, but I'm not a particularly handy sort of person!! If I could do the applying the velcro to the extra board, that would be an option!!
lemmywinks
Had the same problem with my diago board. Was thinking about making a wooden riser for the two pedals affected as stated above but couldn't be bothered, so ordered some leads with right angle jacks from obbm, just lift the pedals up a bit when i plug em in or position the pedals so there's enough room to insert the jacks Seems like a design flaw on an otherwise top pedal board
1976fenderhead
I make risers out of foam board (plenty of that lying around where I work). Works a treat and all you need is a scalpel and some glue :-)
