Anybody any views as the best pickups for a Fretless Jazz? I know it boils down to personal taste in the end but I'm always interested in peoples ideas! :)

Just that, personal taste. Type of music you're playing, as well as choice of strings and amp will be factors also. I like a really mid-heavy nasal tone on my fretless Jazz and an almost mid-scooped tone on my fretless Precision.

Try rubbing some Olbas oil into your fretboard that'll get rid of that in no time........ :)

I use Bartolinis' on my Dean Fretlessessess and find them rich sounding with good definition. Having said that, the onboard preamps cover most tonal requirements.

On reflection, this is a very open ended topic...! :)

Q-Tuners are superb. I have recently built a Jazz copy with a Mighty Mite ebanol fretless neck and a single pickup in the bridge position. Probably one of the best fretless sounds I have ever heard. Have a look at it in the link on my signature.
Erno Zwaan at Q-Tuner also does replacement Jazz pups that should fit the standard routing
