It's not a Ric - it's a Chickenbacker, probably £250 new (give or take the paint job).

Anyway a gift is something someone took the time to look for and therefore shall never be (re)sold. Then he could discover what a bass really is.

Ok, there are 2 problems here too :

1. He is a guitar player. 

2. It's a Rick.

 

I know the first is a curse, but the second could be worse.

Although we’re not allowed to host Rickenbacker sales on Basschat due to John Hall being a (omitted for legal reasons), I can’t say I’m unhappy to see fake ricks being sold elsewhere. Scam or not!
