gargouill Posted March 1, 2018 Share Posted March 1, 2018 (edited) I bought it to a professionnel seller in uk on Reverb.com. I guess it was a good deal but finally it was not. Bass arrived with one pickup dead and the frets were bad looking. My local luthier refreted it but he didn't succeed to do a good job because the geometry of the neck was pretty annoying so i sent it to Thomann for a Plek Premium service and they did a really good job with a fingerboard leveling and then a refret ( it cost me 2 refret finally..). I can provide the plek purchase order When the bass came back from Thomann, the second pickup was dead ( these old wires covered with varnish don't like travel ) so the 2 pickups have been rewound by Hepcat in France, a renowned specialist in vintage pickup. 2 intonation screws are not original, as well as 3 springs and the pickups screws. Decoding the neck code gives me a 71 year, the serial says 72 and pots/pickups from 73. The total cost is more than 3500 €. I ask 3000 € and will provide a Fender tweed Hiscox case as i don't have the original case. The neck pickup cover is original, the bridge cover is from Rebel Relic. The bass sounds gorgeous ( the rewound gives strong to the pickup ) and plays really nicely with a 2,5 mm action under the E string. Truss rod works perfectly with margin. Weight 4,107 kgs.
