Dennis the menace
Hey again, I'm looking at buying myself (no one will do it for me!) a fender jazz bass Pro series new or used does anyone have any comments ie you've bought one liked or didn't or anything that might help me in my search. Cheers
chris_b
I played at Pro Jazz V in Guitar Guitar Epsom and was impressed. I liked the feel of it and thought the redesigned pickups sounded good. The B string sounded "attached" to the rest of the bass, which doesn't always happen with Fenders. It was way too heavy for my shoulder/back but I liked it. ead
I'm curious about the "narrower, taller" frets.
Dazm1966
I bought a flamed maple top one with rosewood fingerboard tail end of last year. It’s a beautifully made instrument. The neck seems super comfortable and fast compared to the stingray I’ve played for the lat 25 years. Sounds gorgeous but it’s the first j bass I’ve played so nothing to compare it to. I would say that the stingray has more sustain and will cut through any mix without trying. But I’m in a soul covers band now so wanted something a bit more subtle and in keeping.
