Wylie
I happened on this Marcus Miller concert (Leverkusen Jazz Festival), and seeing some interest in Sire basses on BC, thought I'd link it: In the first couple of numbers Miller plays a Sire five-string. Pasco Jacorius
They sound good , feel good , they have no brand on tuners and bridge but they do their job quite well(stays in tune !!!!). They sustain good , ash/maple has more punch that alder/rosewood which has a more traditional/standard sound. Passive mode is a real one (works even without batteries) and pre amp is very efficient(be careful !). Now...their price is illogical because we forget easiely they are made in indonesia. Were they made in USA or europe they would have cost more than 1000 dollar. Oh and finish is quite good. Never saw that at that price range before. So ...Yeah... if you can get one just get it. I play professionally and do lot of studio and it has become my main bass. And trust me I'm a difficult customer.
