Bay Splayer
what i want to do is record my bass AND whatever track i am jamming along to, and save it on my pc have done so before with windows sound recorder but quality not to good, bit of fading in and out i am guessing what i need is a sound card if so, would this be easy to use for a non tech-head like me also, if it is what i need, i would prefer an external one .....any recommendations (nothing too expensive) cheers

I don't get commission from Thomann by the way! good luck! Edited November 20, 2008 by bremen

tonybassplayer
Maybe it's me being a bit thick but I clicked on the link for the audio interface and I am a little puzzled as to where the guitar lead plugs in to it ??

An active bass would just about work without a preamp, a passive hardly at all. I've only ever used it with a preamp so it might be me that's being thick by assuming it'd work. I just edited my post to say 'you WILL need a preamp with this'. Edited November 20, 2008 by bremen

Rumple
I use an Edirol UA-25 and get an excellent recorded bass sound. Audacity is good audio recording program and it's free - http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/ R. lowrentdiscographer
Quite interested in a usb interface, anyone have any thoughts regarding the Line 6 Toneports, GX and UX1? Comes bundled with Cubase (LE?) S.
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE
I have toneport gx. Excellent(cost me about £58.00 from Rockstop charing x rd) Recording plug in not included. If you want to record , you could purchase riff master as an add on. (approx £40.00)
