Dom in Dorset
2006 US Fender 890mm the differences will probably be down to different bridge designs. When building a bass I fit the bridge so that the half way point of the saddle's range of adjustment is at 34" from the nut (This is assuming that the scale length is 34" The Fender I measured has the half way point at 34 1/4") Edited March 19, 2018 by Dom in Somerset

Whatever bridge you have you need to be able to adjust the saddles either side of the 34" mark. My Fender's bridge is a little further down that I would have put it so the G string saddle is at the limit of it's adjustment.
Fozza
I've never heard it called a "Jazz Bass" before.
super al
I've heard that if your "jazz bass" is on the short side you're classed as a guitar player 😁
discreet
For 34" scale I measure 35" to the bridge retaining screws. 22 minutes ago, Fozza said: I've never heard it called a "Jazz Bass" before. Do you do it sitting down, or standing up with a strap on?
super al
My Fender MIM has a Gotoh bridge and nut to the inside of the bridge upstand measures 893mm Edited March 19, 2018 by super al
