While we're talking about them, how do Americans eat their scones?  Does the cream go on first or the jam jelly?

Although this is a link from 2014, the debate goes much further back than that.

I'm not sure, me I haven't had a scone in years.

That's pretty full on for a FOUR hour set - particularly if it's just one vocalist!

Are there any guys in UK doing long extended gigs. I'm kinda curious now to be honest.

Its pretty rare that we do a set that is noticeably less than 3 hours

I played on the USAF bases in Spain in the late '70s

We did 6 nights a week, 6 x 45 minute sets per night.

Jeez, that was hard, not just for the band but for the equipment too.

......and as for the poor vocalist.....................

We're not good at video clips. We really don't have a good ones. Hopefully we'll have something professional done.

Can't you post that festival clip off of YT?  We're all used to amateur movies here.

It wasn't great on quality but I enjoyed it anyway.  It's a pity that I didn't keep the link.

I hope you do get some of your set recorded for promos.  If only for posterity, it's worth it.

DOH sorry must have been a senior moment there xD

At a push BL could be bloody long (set)...

but actually BL = British Leyland - anyone over 50 remember them?

Now that would be a truly senior moment.

Yes.

I remember them for crappy TV adverts mainly.

(My one and only senior moment has not actually ended yet.)

2 x 1 hour sets are very much the norm for my two crews in the Big Smoke both for pubs and functions. Sometimes 2 x 45 mins. Very occasionally up to 2 1/2 hours.

Does it pay?

We get £50 more than in my last group that barely scraped 2 hours, so as there are 4 of us in this and 3 of us in the last band, I guess not!

What about unseen benefits like more bookings than for the shorter gigs?

I think there were those benifits, in that there are a couple of places that call us first when there is a cancelation (which always surprised me as we are not that good), but as the rest of the group (who are all younger than me) are now into that baby thing, it is a bit cancelled out.

That is worth remembering.  Thank you.
