The59Sound Posted March 20, 2018 Share Posted March 20, 2018 I don't think I've ever come across an OD/Dist. that keeps the 'woody' tone of a P or a J. You know when you're plugged in with nothing engaged and you can 'hear' that wood sound? No OD for me has ever kept that once engaged - am I alone in thinking this? To me, it means clean and warm so you can hear the natural tone of the instrument, so any kind of distortion is just going to blur that... I would probably suggest Darkglass Vintage due to the blend letting you mix in some smooth overdriven midrange on top of your clean tone.
