EliasMooseblaster Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 "I can attest to the fact that this humble cable really does make an audible difference to the sound heard from your amp." ...'cos it's kind of quiet without it! Quote
paul_5 Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 Aah, Mojo doesn’t come cheap though, plus the snake oil etc... Quote
EBS_freak Posted March 22, 2018 Author Posted March 22, 2018 I think it's all down to the fact that there is lead in the solder. Quote

songofthewind Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 Nope, it’s because it has passed through Alexander Dumble’s aura. THAT is what makes it sound so good. Quote
fleabag Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 mumble..mumble.. reptile 20/50 .. mumble mumble Quote
dannybuoy Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 Hmm. Were those pancake jacks even around in the 70s? I thought they were a fairly recent invention to help people squeeze more pedals onto their boards. Quote

My first very cheap and nasty coily lead bought in 1975 had a flat jack plug just like that at one end. 1 Quote
alyctes Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 Makes an audible difference, yes, possibly. But does it make it better? 1 Quote

Remember most guitars amps from a purist electrical engineering PoV are terrible, but it's those originally unwanted side effects of amplifying using valves that make them so desirable now. Happy Jack Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 I assume that cable came in through the Dumble door? 1 Quote
PaulWarning Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 I'm sure they'll be people who swear it improves the sound, they seem to have the capacity to fool their ears into hearing anything if they paid enough for it Quote
EBS_freak Posted March 23, 2018 Author Posted March 23, 2018 Just in case anybody is interested, I'll make you up a similar cable out of bell cable and a couple of crusty jacks and I'll even be charitable enough to charge half of what this guy is asking for. Hell, I'll even throw in free postage. Quote
Hellzero Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 I can make a better one with 99% Russian irradiated copper and 100% lead unfree solders for 1/3 of his asking price, but I'll have to charge £1000 GBP for the lead coffin as shipping fee. Quote

I was thinking more of whether it was really crackly. Different Quote
