Wehner
Going to hear Level 42 live in Aalborg in an hour or so, and on a whim today I bought a Trace Elliot 4x8 which I can pair with my ancient AH130. The cabinet is one of the felt covered ones. There may be a better term for it than felt, though. I am not a native speaker. In any case, this felt is covered by an extra layer of various hair types of different origin. I really need to clean it as it looks horrible. My vacuum cleaner can't do it as those pesky hairs really stick to the felt. I'll try a lint roller for clothes tomorrow but I'm not too optimistic about its chances. Any other suggestions? LITTLEWING
I learnt this trick while l was looking how to get dog hairs off my car seats - Wear one washing up glove and push hard along the fabric with your fingers together and watch the junk gather up in a line. Tricky bits can always get the gaffa tape treatment. 😉
fleabag
Marigold gloves are the business for getting rid of unwanted hair and fluff. Just wet the glove first A wet Marigold can sort a lot of problems Edited March 23, 2018 by fleabag 2
RandomBass
I hope you get the cab hair sorted. Also, please give a report on the Level 42 concert. That bass player of theirs is quite good apparently.
project_c
I didn't know about the glove thing, that's genius. I have 2 cats that leave a fine layer of hair on every piece of clothing i own, and those lint rollers don't really do a good job of getting rid of it. I'm trying that in the morning. fleabag
You have to rub hard, matron
mrtcat
Get the hair clippers out and give it a number one all over ("number one" refers to length of cut - I don't mean pee on it). 1
EBS_freak
In addition to the above - Lint roller and a bobbleoff machine are great for making rat fur cabs look cared for again.

The bass is on a backing track. There's some singer type playing something that sounds like a stapler...?
Wehner
A more thorough vacuum cleaning today yielded no visible result. But it looks much, much better now after me using half a lint roller on it. At first, I thought mrtcat was joking, but the felt is actually fairly long-haired in places so a crew cut doesn't sound like a bad idea at all. It will be the last step, however. Next up: Rubber gloves and gaffa. Thanks for all the suggestions!
TheGreek
I use brown tape wrapped around my hand with the sticky side out. Just dab the hairs, etc off.

machinehead
An electric shaver works well. I'm not joking. Frank.

basexperience
Set an actual hoover on it! Just manhandle the hoover. I’ve got a handheld pet hair tool for the dyson with its own internal suction fed brush which works wonderfully. My Warwick cabs are also “felted” like the Trace ones. I've seen other pictures showing what seems to be a T bass. " err yeah so, Mark....King bass sales are down....what we gonna do?" "dunno Rob...can you knock up something that sounds like , well.....a bass? Also something that looks like well, you know ...something traditional but keep the fancy lights..?" "I got just the thing Mark..." "Is it original?" "Well it is green. You haven't done green yet.." "I'll take two of em' . One for main and .." "Yes, one for back up. I know".
