bought 3 fan-bloomin-tastic albums recently

Squarepusher - Just a Souvenir deffinitly my favorite squarepusher album so far. love every second of it and seems to be more accessible than other albums.

Soil & "Pimp" session - Pimpoint everyone needs to hear this! i think they refer to their music as 'death jazz'. i personally don't like that description, though i can see why they chose it. very intense at times, but awe inspiringly beautiful at others. organized chaos at it's best!

James Taylor Quartet - Live at the Jazz Cafe captures the energy they have live perfectly, which doesn't happen often with live albums. a deffinite for any fan, and highle recomended for new listeners.

Frost* - Experiments In Mass Appeal finally dropped through my letter box this morning after a major ordering screw up by the Classic Rock Society. Just getting its first blast while I should be getting on with some work.

Otherwise most of my recent additions have been downloads from eMusic from which I am particularly enjoying The Reasoning - Awakening and Dark Angel and Todd Rundgren - Arena

Before I list the most recent CD's, I must say that I'm wearing asbestos pyjamas :)

Matt Scannell & Richard Marx - Duo (Great acoustic album).

That led me on to buy:
Richard Marx - Emotional Remains & Sundown (2 CD's released simultaneously).
Vertical Horizon - Go & Everything You Want (Matt Scannell's band, why didn't I find this earlier. Nu-metal/rock vibe).

I've also bought:
Brad Paisley - Play (the "Guitar album" from the new country star).
Jonas Hellborg - Art Metal (pretty crazy weird metalish stuff).

This one is probably not be as instant as their first - Milliontown - and all this from a guy whose day job is writing & producing for the likes of Girls Aloud, but don't let that put you off!!!

I tend not to buy music - I have a Microsoft Zune (like an ipod) and I pay monthly to dl anything I want from the marketplace they have. (Its pretty well stocked with new and old stuff)

So, I just dl'd (last week):

everything by '...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead'
a couple of 'At The Drive In' albums
some 'Remy Zero'
some 'Shins'
all of the albums by 'The Stills'
a 'Pendulum' album
the new 'Oasis' album
some 'Hot Hot Heat'
a bit of 'Shiny Toy Guns'
the new 'Snow Patrol' album

and lots lots more lol...... Jack's Mannequin, Glasvegas, Of Montreal, I'm From Barcelona, Tunng, Efterklang, The New Pornographers, Devics,

I really need to spend some time not listening to new music

This week I have been mostly listening to my new purchases...

Nickelback - Dark Horse (love Mike Kroeger's tone! )

Infectious Grooves - Groove Family Cyco (had a copy back in the 90's - buggered if I know where it went... :) )

Extreme - Saudades de rock (went to see them at the Astoria and was very impressed. )

Katy Perry - One of the boys (a man cannot live on ROCK alone  )

Always helps to have a girlfriend who gets a discount at HMV, Lol!
Protest The Hero's Kezia and Fortress. Arif is absolutely mental on bass. Have a look at Sequoia Throne if you want a real challenge.

+1

I just got this a few weeks ago and am blown away by his playing. An album even non metal fans should check out if you are keen on technique

I got an unbelievable bargain in the HMV sale the other day that I forgot to mention:

I got Primal Scream's Screamadelica and Give Out But Don’t Give Up in a double pack for £3!!
Both classic, both great, bloody bargain!
Bought the Muse CD/DVD of the 2007 Haarp tour in a 2 for £10 deal from HMV yesterday and amazing :)
Got the Limited Edition one.
Only thing is, they left out 2 or 3 songs from the DVD.

Latest CD I bought was the new Bloc Party album. Good tunes there
