Paul S Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Interesting- looks like a passive p/j, too. I used to have a passive p/j B2B cricket bat and I much preferred the sound of that over the EMGs Quote

TheGreek Posted March 29, 2018 Author Posted March 29, 2018 Other than a few dents I can't see the faults with the neck... Enlighten me to what you can see... Quote
prowla Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 The finish is crazed along the entire length of the neck. Quote
Paul S Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Having never noticed one before, bizarrely there is a black one of these passive P/J Jacks just come up on eBay for £200. Twice as much but less than half the work. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/hohner-the-jack-bass-2/123048663927?hash=item1ca6459b77:g:8CAAAOSwk4tavPm6 Quote
prowla Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 I used to have one in the 80s when I was in a club band; we wore black & red for one set, so I had a black one with a red strap... As for the bass itself, it was OK; I replaced it with a Washburn Status and then I replaced that with a real Status. I'd say £200 is probably top-end for one of them. Quote
Bassassin Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Interesting one - never seen a bolt-neck Jack before, or a passive p/j for that matter. Does look a bit of a state, & the active through-necks do still turn up for sub £200 prices from time to time, so this is probably a bit dear for a low-end project. Always had a bit of GAS for a j/j through-neck Jack. Quote
