Double bass Ashdown

I'm selling an Ashdown 408 Classic 500w cab and have had this question posed - 

Hi

are these any good with a double bass, for example as an extension speaker with an Acoustic Image combo?

 

As I don't play DB and so haven't got a clue. Any thoughts?

I'm guessing... But smaller speakers are normally preferable for the reproduction of DB. However, I have full faith in Alex at Barefaced who says speakers' diameter really has no effect - and I use BF cabs so subscribe to this concept. I imagine it probably sounds pretty good no matter, it's a decent cab!
