Guest MoJo
I've decided to give 'going wireless' a go and I'm looking for recommendations for a reliable system that I could pick up for around £120 or less secondhand Thanks
JimBobTTD
Line6 G30. I bought one years back and it has served me very well. I cannot recommend it enough.

PaulWarning
line 6 G10, spot on budget a really really well thought out wireless system
Les
Line 6 G30 for me too. Had it a couple of years now. Heard good things about the Smooth hound too.
dmccombe7
How does that fit with your pedals. I mean does it go from bass to wireless then to pedals which i guess kind of defeats the wireless thing as you still need cables to and from pedals. I've quite fancied trying it out but wasn't sure how people use them unless straight into their amp. Dave
Leonard Smalls
I bought an Akg micro wireless t'other day from Knighton Music for £69. Cheap, 25m range - used it for a gig on Friday and it was excellent.
Leonard Smalls
Pedal-wise, i take wireless output into tuner, tuner out goes via cable into preamp and pedals are on preamp fx loop.
Muzz
Smoothound for me: never a single dropout or blip, and verrrry small, too...you can bend the budget slightly and buy new, too...
Bobthedog
Smoothhound for me too. Great bit of kit.
dmccombe7
Just googled prices for Smoothhound classic wireless. Manufacturer is £20 cheaper than people selling on ebay and Guitar Gallery. ?? Not sure what's going on there. Usually manufacturers price is higher so well done Smoothhound. Dave

Dave I don't use my pedal board much these days but when I did I put the receiver in it, then into the chain as you would with your guitar lead if you had one. Obviously still one lead to your amp but that's not what you would buy a wireless system to defeat.
Gottastopbuyinggear
I've got the Smoothhound unit and it seems like a good solid piece of kit. It was a toss up between that and the G30, but I decided I wanted something compact and sturdy on my pedalboard so the Smoothhound with its metal case won over the G30. £149 including delivery direct from the manufacturer - the extra £29 to buy new gives you peace of mind for a year on the warranty - might be worth thinking about. CameronJ
Yep. SmoothHound for me too. @SmoothHoundChris is very helpful re: any questions or problems you might have. Great product and great support.
Oopsdabassist
+1 for support from Chris, i popped in to him after a drummer related receiver incident, and he was as helpful as a helpful thing..and he makes GREAT coffee!! Go Smoothhound with no worries, you won't be disappointed!
rushbo
Another vote for Smoothound. Mine works absolutely flawlessly and Chris is a top guy to deal with. There may be cheaper systems, but I don't think they're better than this.
Dad3353
Very satisfied with our Smothhound. First and only system, so nothing to compare it with, but no regrets on its acquisition. It's Good Stuff.
Leonard Smalls
If you want budget, as I said earlier: AKG WMS40 Not as long a range as the Smoothhound, but sturdy, and it works well... And you'd get 2 for 1 Smoothhound. Worth a punt in my book!
NancyJohnson
G30 here. The sender case is a little flimsy, but stick it in Levys pouch and you're sound.

G30, "Don't Leave Home Without One" I wrap an elastic band around the sender to secure that weird battery cap design. Blue one of the reasons I went for the G10, it has no belt sender unit, plugs into the guitar like the smoothhound, but also has rechargeable batteries (park it in the receiver and it charges up) and it's £25 cheaper https://www.andertons.co.uk/guitar-dept/guitar-wireless-systems/line-6-relay-g10-digital-wireless-guitar-system edit, the only disadvantage it has is that the power supply is a USB plug so can't be powered by a conventional power supply Edited April 2, 2018 by PaulWarning

lojo
Yep same here Line 6 G30 , even with the dodgy battery door (duck tape) the electronical side of it has been faultless for many gigs
MacDaddy
If you want to avoid batteries, or having to use a plug socket, and want cheap - £52 - here you go. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Donner-Rechargeable-Wireless-Transmitter-Receiver/dp/B0756YWWS9 The flip-side is they are a bit prominent, and the output is slightly reduced compared to a lead.
