dannybuoy
I recently acquired this but have decided to keep my old V1. Reason for this is I mistakenly tried the old one at 18V to find out sounded so much better, only to later find out I was very lucky not to blow it up as the internals are only rated for 15V. I don't want to risk a brand new pedal at the higher voltage so up it goes! Unmarked, literally just played for a few minutes, but owned it too long to send it back now! £160 posted https://photos.app.goo.gl/vHp6C9Mn7EOnnxz52 Edited May 27, 2018 by dannybuoy
Kev
Just FYI mate, all current Darkglass distortion run at 18v. I think its only the compressor that doesn't
dannybuoy
Got a link to where that might be quoted anywhere? I've got that info from Doug himself, after the B3K V2 was already out, but before the latest V2 Ultra pedals were released. Apparently multiple B7Ks have been melted as a result of running them at 18V so thought it wise not to risk the new one! Kev
Here https://www.darkglass.com/faq/ New Ultras cant be ran at 18v presume because of digital circuitry, but V2 B3K is all good. Edited April 2, 2018 by Kev
dannybuoy
Ah, thanks! Well I might have to do some testing and this ad might change to a V1 B3K or broken V2 for spares or repair!
dannybuoy
Ok! Just to clarify then, the V2 is safe and tested at 18V. And since I can't pick out which one sounds better, I'm going to sell the one that's worth more, so this is still for sale!
