casapete
Interesting Sterling here, 'road worn' ..... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ernie-Ball-Musicman-Sterling-USA-Road-Worn-Electric-Bass-Guitar-in-Red/323183202774?hash=item4b3f3851d6:g:98cAAOSwA1pawOff
ash
Why would you start to ‘sand down’ such an expensive instrument - the transparent red finish is lovely too what a shame
prowla
Ah - a lovely example of the roadworn look.
dyerseve
I especially like how the roadworn front matches the immaculate back...
anzoid
Some people really are stupid... isn't it worth far less than the £750 he's hoping for now??
alyctes
I'd have thought so, but you never know. Someone else might be just as daft.
paul_5
That probably used to be a nice instrument; what a shame.
warwickhunt
Probs worth 750 if mint. In this condition you'd need to subtract the cost of having the body refinished; couple hundred quid... and then I'd expect a bit off for the inconvenience. So, worth about £450 realistically now... ouch - I recently got a quote from someone I've used before who did a very good refin for me and body only would be about £200, and as you say - some off for inconvenience like having to ship it for the refin, etc. etc. Amazing how a bit of sandpaper can kill the value of a bass. Try taking sandpaper to most things and it'll kill their value. £200 for a refin is a good price - I was quoted £350 over the weekend for a Tokai Strat (which was too much). Yeah, just going to go out and sand down the car... The refin I had done a couple of years ago was on a body I'd already striped down (not very well apparently...) and was done by Jack's Instruments Services in Manchester - was very pleased with the quality of the work done - then promptly sold the bass anyway as I realised it wasn't working out for me anyway Was a good lookin' bass though. Delberthot
Oh dear. Not nearly as common as Stingrays but also don't command as high prices as them either. If I was interested I would be offering around the £400-450 mark. And also introduced in 1993, not 2003. I'm eagerly awaiting (and saving for) the announcement of the 25th anniversary model

I'm eagerly awaiting (and saving for) the announcement of the 25th anniversary model I think he means this is a 2003 bass. Can't understand why someone would vandalise such a lovely instrument. I'm interested in acquiring one of these, but not in this condition. £250-300 tops.
Delberthot
Ah, I thought he meant that he bought it new in 2010. I've checked the serial and right enough it comes up as May/June 2003
