Westenra
After putting back one of my jazz basses I noticed there was a significant drop in volume with the bridge pup solo'd, turns out the copper coil has snapped somewhere in the middle. Now I've got to weigh my options up, try and fix it myself or send it off and get it rewired. If I did the latter how much would I be looking at? I've got Armstrong pickups as a potential, but just wondered what the great BC insight could deliver.
Hellzero
Are you sure that this is the correct diagnostic because if the lead is cut or broken, the sound will have gone too ?

Aye, 100%. One end of the wire is still soldered to the eyelet while the other isn't due to it snapping somehow.
Hellzero
Then simply find the other end and solder it back to eyelet. Removing one or a few more turns will absolutely not change the sound. A picture could help.
