Display in one thread not the same as others

Here's what i'm seeing

One thread i get full width , which is what i like

Other thread is cut off with " similar content "   box on the right, and taking up space, and that space then follows on with nothing but blank to the bottom

Kind of a waste, but why 2 different display widths ?  I'd like to see all threads like screenshot  1 - full width

If there's similar content then it takes that space on the right. That is determined by the tags on the thread.

It's standard behaviour

I agree with the above. It would be fine if there was a way of closing the 'Similar Content' column. Possible..? No..? Shirley..! In these days when men have walked on the moon... Please..?

Maybe a campaign for 'tagless' posts, then..?

The hope is that people will use tags more, thus making the sidebar fill up with suggested further reading. It’s a good idea, I like it. Either way, we can’t change it.

So adding tags to a thread, will cause a sidebar to appear with other posts with the same/similar tags?

Well in that case I'm going to stop using tags because the sidebar takes up what is IMO valuable screen space that would be better used for thread content.

Yes and on mobile it puts them at the bottom of the page.
