markytbass Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 I saw a 5 string Rockbass Vampyre go this morning for £127, not everyone's cuppa and it may reappear if it was being shilled. Nearly pulled the trigger as it was only up the road, but held back. Quote
ahpook Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 (edited) i got a brown (late 80's ?) boss GE-7B last week for £31...almost mint condition. great little unit - used it today at practise. Edited November 22, 2008 by ahpook Quote
Mr. Foxen Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 (edited) Haven't bought anything in ages, thats probably a win for me. Edit: Within moments, a cheap looking buy it now and I've gone and bought another pedal to not use. Eyes peel on the for sale forum soon. Edited November 23, 2008 by Mr. Foxen Quote
warwickhunt Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 A near miss for me... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=008 In the end I didn't bid, so admittedly the final price may have been higher but £200 for a 12 string Hamer is pretty damn cheap. Had it been the TP model I'd have been all over it. Quote
stevie Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 (edited) I bought a £20 Seiko tuner for £2.28 a few weeks ago - the auction finished in the early hours of the morning and so there was no last minute bidding. A also recently got a brand new quality boom mike stand for £14.50 delivered. Prices are not as depressed as I would expect them to be given the downturn. I recently sold a hifi preamp for £150 that I paid £40 for two years ago. Go figure. The best bargains are still the 'local pickup only' ones. And if you're selling, you get a much better price if you are willing to ship outside the UK. My preamp went to Spain, for example, and was bid up by someone from Italy. Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 I sorted out an xmas pressie for my daughter for £56 - a daisy rock Wildwood acoustic geetar. Its in mint condition with case & has been set up with beautifully low action. Quote

There was just something a bit scummy looking about it all though. Quote
waynepunkdude Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 I would have bought it as 3 back up basses Quote
lemmywinks Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 (edited) Bought my missus a new laptop for £62.50 inc post. 2.2ghz celeron, 512mb ram and 60gig hard drive. All it needed was a new kettle lead for the charger and a cdrw drive (£3.19 posted, ebay again!). Replaces her old 1.2ghz lappy which was £52.50 posted, off ebay! Best bargain i saw in recent months bass-wise was a short scale encore in good nick, went for £9 as it was pick up only in sheffield. Don't suppose many o them steel workers have much use for a shorty bass...................... Edited November 23, 2008 by lemmywinks Quote
budget bassist Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 I got a 75W solid state randall guitar amp the other day for £65 + £25 postage, not a bad price for a used one considering they're £225 new. Even better due to the fact that it was ex shop display and practically new! Quote

elom Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 I got a Stuart Clayton (who he?) book for 1p (It's actually very good Stuart! - teaches me all the basics that I should have learnt years ago - I know what the strings are called now...) Quote
waynepunkdude Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 I just bought this, I think it's bloody cheap. markytbass Posted November 25, 2008 Author Posted November 25, 2008 I also bagged an Aria proII magna guitar for my son £56 posted. I won a bass amp last week but because of paypal problems (their's not mine) I will have to wait til next week to get my hands on it. Quote
spinynorman Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 I got a Tapco mixer for £15. The seller didn't have the power supply and didn't know if the mixer worked. Fortunately the PS from my Behringer MIC 100 works fine with it. Quote
Dr.Dave Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 I'm about to - i think. I'll let you know in 8 min 52 secs!! Quote
john_the_bass Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 I got a turbo tubescreamer - a relative bargain I think Quote

Bassassin Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 I got some new (old) JapCrap a couple of weeks back - it was sitting at £25 or so, with 2 hours left, I put on a suitably satanic top bid of £66.66 and cleared off to a gig - with absolutely no expectation of winning it! When I came back I'd got a Kawai Sleekline for £64. Jon. Quote
bigjohn Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 I bought a 2005 mint FSR gun metal blue MIM Precision earlier on this year for £170. I dunno why was the only bidder. Very odd. Quote
