I am the guy who converts 4 string Rickenbackers into 5 string Rickenbacker and I build crazy 5 string basses.

Wow...would that need 2 truss rods in the neck?

The 5 string Rics you've modified are awesome.  I had a 4001 in the 70's (black with the rare cheqeured binding.....) which I regret selling ...hence my handle on this forum

Actually 1 truss rod works fine ... a cheap Chinese neck that holds up fine

You should put this in the Build Diaries.

I think it would get a better airing there.
