Oh dear. Rest of the bass looks tidy enough, but why would you do that.

Probably bought the wrong ones by accident...  and may still be unaware of it.

The bass is a Cold War-era East German Musima copy - the irony is that the original hardware on these was decent - the original tuners would have been torque-adjustable Gotohs.

Wonder if the seller binned the old bits just because they were old, & "upgraded" it?

Fitting them this way will move the centre of gravity of the winders towards the body by an inch or so - less neck dive !
