OliverBlackman
Did anyone see the 75 Jazz bass on Facebook today for just £1250? Why do these bargains only come up when I have no money and bills to pay rather than when I'm looking for a new bass. Is it just me or does this happen to anyone else? BreadBin
The finished items section of my eBay watch list is full of missed opportunities. Facebook is great for bargains these days apparently, for cars as well as instruments - doesn't tempt me to start using it again though. yorks5stringer
I bought a Bass on Facebook recently: suffice to say Basschat is so much better.
Burns-bass
There is so much crap advertised on Facebook, and some really quite obvious fakes (to those that know). The problem is that the marketplace doesn't seem to have any admins who police the site. I've bought a couple of great things there, but I'd be wary and ask for advice. Agree, that said there are many Basschatters who advertise on the FB sites too so not everyone is dodgy.
Burns-bass
Absolutely agree. I’ve met some fantastic people on FB too, but with the internet these bargains are few and far between so I’m always cautious particularly on FB.
Longwheelbass
I saw the 72 J on The Gallery's page in Camden for 2K the other day so I grabbed it. I was watching a 69 in Kent for 9 months - when I finally moved to the UK it sold a day before I'd scraped the cash together. It took six months to spot the bargain in Camden - I know what you mean about bargains being few and far between these days.

Was that the one with the comically mis-aligned strings?

As long as it’s cool though Si

Showed that to a mate at work who knows nothing about guitars and he laughed his a$$ off. Thought it was a home made effort until I told him the price and how collectable they are then he laughed some more.
