la bam
Hi all, Just wondered how you are all standing your barefaced super compact up? As there are rubber feet allowing you to position it horizontal (with the vents along the top) or vertical (with the vents down the right hand side) - just wondered if there is a preferred way and if it has any effect on sound - or are both ways fine? pbasspecial
If I use just one I set it vertically and if I use two then I stack them horizontally. Both stacked vertically seem a little wobbly IMO. Personally not worth taking the risk of being knocked over.
Bill Fitzmaurice
Speakers should always be placed with the drivers vertically aligned. Placed horizontal the dispersion angle in the mids is halved compared to vertical, while comb filtering will be present in the highs. On stage in front of the cab you probably won't notice the difference. Out front it will be. If your rig is considerably below ear level it should be lifted and/or tilted back so that you can hear the mids and highs.
chris_b
As we're talking about 112 cabs the orientation doesn't matter. For convenience I stack mine horizontally. It puts the amp at the right level for me. Horizontal also works for Barefaced 210 cabs because the higher frequencies only come out of one speaker.
