claustra Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 (edited) NOW TRADED Hello, Up for sale is this American made G&L ASAT bass from 2005/2007 (original invoice from 2007) It is in excellent condition, with only the not uncommon little marks on the bottom (see pics), and set up with new DR Hi Beams. This is basically an L2000 with a Fender Telecaster shaped body and a Jazz Bass / musicman Sterling neck proffile (38mm at nut) : 1 volume, 2 tones 3 switches : - Active / active with high boost / passive - Series (fat bottom) / parallel (more sociable) - Neck pickup / both / bridge pickup This bass does a lot of things, sounds and plays pretty good. I am selling it because I do not get used to the thin 38mm neck, I prefer the larger ones. I am based in Northern France, but come once in a while to London and shipping is not a problem in the excellent original G&L hardshell case. I have dealt with a few members here, no worries. Shipping cost will depend on insurance, but would range from £25-£50 Paypal accepted, but the gentlemen do charge a lot and I prefer direct bank transfers or alternative solutions. (unfair colour rendering) (here are the scratches at the bottom, notice how horrible the specs of dust look on this picture) Edited May 10, 2018 by claustra 2
Cuzzie Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 These are top notch basses, i’ve had a solid and a semi hollow version. May help the folks out there if you post which number G&L neck it is and dimensions. For the reports out there of neck dive, it’s overstated IMO GLWTS
claustra Posted April 21, 2018 Author Posted April 21, 2018 Thanks, Neck dive is not a problem indeed, there are two factory-set up strap locks on the bottom of the bass to choose from (see pic with the scratches). The neck on this one is the thin version : 38mm
Cuzzie Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 If this is the #8 neck, it’s one of the best on the market, really slim. If it’s the #12 it’s like a PJ and also decent
claustra Posted April 25, 2018 Author Posted April 25, 2018 The neck is (approx) 38mm at nut, 54mm at 12th fret and 62 at 21st fret. What reference is that @Cuzzie ?
Cuzzie Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 (edited) It’s looking like a #6 or #8 jazz neck. They are very nice, they are the usual ASAT specs. Medium C profile Edited April 25, 2018 by Cuzzie
claustra Posted April 25, 2018 Author Posted April 25, 2018 Thanks for the details, you seem to know your ASAT specs !
Cuzzie Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 I had 2 ASATs and an L1500 and have played a #7,8 &12 neck All different, all great, brilliantly made instruments, only reason I sold was to move to a fully passive bass, and have a pedal form my tone and not the nice Preamp, I am too simple for all those dials! I still miss my ASAT’s though GLwTs 1
SurroundedByManatees Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 Beautiful. I've had the semi hollow version with on the body edges. One of the prettiest basses i've owned. 1
claustra Posted May 2, 2018 Author Posted May 2, 2018 Great bass indeed, and you don't see them often.
