Are these genuine Fender strings?

As some of you may know, I've been on the hunt for a set of round wound strings, with black wraps at either end. One of the suggestions made was Fender 7250, so I ordered a set from an eBay seller. The packaging looks different to previous Fender sets that I've bought and the strings have no wraps. I'm wondering if these are genuine Fender strings or fakes. What do you guys think? (pics below)

That's the new-style packaging.

I've got an as-new set which I took off my recently-purchased AV '63 P-bass. Just had a look at they're the same as the OP is describing.

This is not a plug for the strings - I've not listed them yet!

The strings look totally 100% legit to me. I usually buy my Fender flats off eBay, loads of regular music shops sell them cheaper than through their own websites.

Are you saying that the strings you've removed, have black wraps?

Been buying Fender strings for over a year now. They have all been the same as yours in the pic, and came from an authorized dealer.

Fender have rejigged the packaging recently, that's all. They used this packaging prior to yours, far as I know the strings haven't changed for a while now.

Oh, ok. I'm undecided as whether to return these new strings or not. I've used Fender strings in the past and they're decent strings. I've just fallen in love with these strings, that came on a bass I recently bought, with the black wraps. The seller still insists that they're Rotosound, but Rotosound say they don't manufacture strings with black wraps

Shar music here in the States,  which deals in the needs of string players (violins, etc.) have encountered knock-off strings which made their way into the mainstream marketplace.  They buy direct from the manufacturer and put hologram stickers on the packages which they guarantee as genuine.  Good violin strings can go for $25 -$150,  with viola,  cello and double bass stings much,  much more.  Who would have thought they'd be knocking off electric bass strings.  I guess where there's money to be made,  someone will come along to try and cheat you.  Beware.

Whilst this probably goes on, I don't think the Fender strings pictured by the OP are fake, just updated spec and packaging.

I heard (I think on here) that Elixirs are the most chosen brand to knock off, presumably due to their higher r.r.p. & hence more profit for the fakers.

Old Fender 7250s had black silks... ten years ago when Fender made them in their Mexico factory.

That explains the confusion
