:) I think it looks pretty good. Nicely executed bit of celtic 'fretwork' with little hints of shadows.

Light years better than the original faux steel-plate thing and more interesting than a standard MM guard.

A Facebook friend of mine has one of the first few from this 'plate maker on a MM 5er. Not my thing personally, but looks really good in its way.

Oi - how very dare you - love my checker plate, industrial Ray!! And the plain white come to that 👍 there again I'm willing to accept my taste doesn't always follow the conventional standard  'wisdom' - I once swapped a tort Bongo pg for a much nicer one from a chap in Europe!!

Nice work - just not for me though. Not too bling IMO. Sort of Phil Lynott with a Gothic twist.

Goes well with the black also. I'm betting the chrome will reflect light as well as the Phil Lynott or Noddy Holder's mirrored top hat 😀

:) Fair enuff, sport!

I'm not saying that the checker plate is necessarily a bad thing. Indeed, were I in possession of a Sub Ray I'd probably keep it on. But I like the OP's fretted-out Celtic doo-dad better.

All you need now is a Pentangle tribute band to play it in!

Joking aside, I like it. The rest of the guitar is kept relatively understated, so I think it makes a good focal point - it could have been very easy to overdo it and end up with some kind of Celtic Bootsy, so nicely done on keeping it tasteful.
