Twigman
Last year I bought a EBMM Sterling 4HH brand spankers - I love it. I am thinking of ordering another but this time I'm after a 4HS - but 4HS is no longer a pickup configuration on the EBMM website. Does this mean that the 4HS is no more? https://www.music-man.com/instruments/basses/sterling
fretmeister
Pickups Standard - Music Man® humbucking with ceramic magnets and hum canceling phantom coil; Optional - Dual Humbucking with ceramic magnets; Optional - Humbucking/Single coil with ceramic magnets

Twigman
I was trying to get the 'code' so I could possibly order quoting the correct configuration code
fretmeister
How odd. Could be a site error. Are Strings and Things still the UK distributor? Email them I suppose.
drTStingray
The Stingray HS is dropped - I recall there being some discussion about it on the MM forum and EBMM revealed hardly any were being ordered. They're certainly not available in the 2018 version of the Stingray (H and HH only). There's a thread on the MM bass forum that lists what you can order - I think only the Sterling had options like Fretless, lefty etc - H, HS, HH were listed as available options (circa late January) Edited April 25, 2018 by drTStingray
Musicman20
It's a shame if they have dropped more HS options, as I have a few and they are very versatile and underrated!
fretmeister
I bet they would sell more if they introduced a JJ model!! Would save me from thinking about butchering one too!

Twigman
OUCH! It seems prices have skyrocketed.........A Stingray 4HS with SLO neck & matching headstock comes in at £2199! My Sterling 4HH with matching headstock comes in at £2149 I paid something like £1475 for mine!
fretmeister
It's tricked down to the used sales too. I got my first Ray 5 for £650, and the 2nd one for only a little more. Now they are £1000 to £1200 used.
Twigman
Yeah but a 50% or so price hike in 15 months!!! OUCH! Perhaps the Govt should put a Musicman bass in its shopping basket when arriving at the RPI?
fretmeister
It started just after the thing that cannot be named!
