After checking the measurements of the blend and push/pull pots they definitely won't fit so this build will now be passive and my 'Tropia' 5 string bass build will get fitted with the preamp instead.......... 😀

Yes - push-pull pots are particularly deep.  You could always use micro-switches, but the blend is more of a challenge...

I did think of going down that route but my 5 string body is 38mm and it needs the electrics done so I might aswell just swap them round 😀

Got the neck pocket sanded down and routed out, I don't think it looks too bad??............

I decided to reshape the headstock as it didn't look right with the fender style so I did the Ibby style I've done on a couple of my other builds then veneered it with oak to match the centre section of the body....... 😀

Next job is the control cavity, fingers crossed I don't balls it up again!?! 😳

The pickups turned up today so I thought a quick mockup was in order!, im still waiting for the bridge and tuners so I'm going to rout the pickup cavities and finish the control cavity tomorrow 😀

Oh that’s looking really good now. It’s amazing how much pickups complete a look. That headstock is a massive improvement IMO; top work, sir.

1st coat of Danish oil on it! Now just waiting for neck screws, bridge, knobs and tuners......... 

I think it's starting to look really nice now if I do say so myself!! 😁

The Born Again Bass.

It's looking well on this incarnation.  The grains come nicely together and that neck pocket insert looks deliberate and tasteful.  Well done.

Didn't really manage to get a lot more done today apart from installing the electrics, knobs and pickups but even tho I piloted the pickup screw holes I had two bloody screws snap on me!! 😠
