PeteHantzios Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 (edited) Selling my CB bass I acquired through a trade some 7 months ago through talkbass. Specs copied from original listing 35" scale, 19mm bridge. Alder body with Yellowheart top and headstock veneer. Flame maple & Wenge neck with set neck construction. Rosewood Board. Oil finish. Nordy DC pups with a Nordy 3b "kitchen sink" setup (vol, blend, treb, mids, bass, 2 pickup switches, 2 push pull pots). All Hipshot hardware, aluminum bridge. Rosewood and Mahogany pup covers. Refreted with 51108 fretwire and PLEK'd by Mike Lull. Comes with hardcase. About 4 kilos/9 pounds. Bass is in excellent condition. Cosmetically 9.5/10 , functionally 10/10. Tuning keys, bridge, truss rod all working perfectly Especially the truss-rod is perhaps the smoothest I have ever tried. Neck is very comfortable and smooth. Sale value 1250 pounds with shipping to eu/uk included (around 3-5 days) This is less than the bass cost me. Trade value 1600 pounds. I'm located at eu Athens Greece, and have previously completed a few transactions with people from all over Europe through basschat with absolutely no problems, both as a buyer and seller. If you search you can easily find the listing, and for those with talkbass accounts you can find my feedback here https://www.talkbass.com/members/muse.55500/. Unfortunately I never opened(or someone else had to?) a feedback thread in basschat, so for those who don't know me, I have no feedback in basschat:) Edited September 14, 2018 by PeteHantzios
HazBeen Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Lovely CB! Great sounding and playing basses B’wells.
wright/watt Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Stunning bass guitars,Cliff builds. This is another fine example of his work at a very very good price....Good luck with the sale
silverfoxnik Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 That's a really cool looking bass! What does it sound like?
PeteHantzios Posted April 29, 2018 Author Posted April 29, 2018 (edited) Thanks for your kind comments:) @silverfoxnik Edited reply because truth is words cannot express the tone/voice of an instrument. For anyone interested in buying or trading, I can record the bass. Edited September 3, 2018 by PeteHantzios
silverfoxnik Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 Thanks for your detailed description - I know it's not easy to describe sound and tone. But you did a pretty good job! ☺
PeteHantzios Posted August 23, 2018 Author Posted August 23, 2018 Well, after being hesitant since I posted the ad(the reason for no bumps), I can say now I love that bass even more, but I've also decided that I do need something different. Bump for a beautiful sounding instrument, with excellent playability(I now prefer it more than my main bass), really top notch construction, and almost in mint condition, apart from one knob being slightly bent(visible only when rotating it) and the plastic black rings removed from the knobs(I highly prefer the look and feel this way). I am open to trade offers, mainly 4 string basses of comparable quality and nice sound. I really dislike obvious dead spots. (by the way this bass has none as far as I can tell that would bother me).
PeteHantzios Posted August 23, 2018 Author Posted August 23, 2018 Edit : I think I should note the reason I'm selling. In my DIY studio that we practise, I have major problems with bass modes. It's over 15 db at 250hz, and this bass works worst than my other one in the band settings. I try to compensate with extreme eq settings through a boss gt100. I think I need a 4 string instrument with a little more contained dynamic range. Like a p bass or a pj. My other bass right now at 18mm is not as comfortable as the bordwell turned out to be for me. I need something with 4 strings and 19-20mm string spacing.
PeteHantzios Posted August 27, 2018 Author Posted August 27, 2018 I think it was a very good deal already at the price I had it. But I'll make it even more of a bargain, 1150 pounds from now on with shipping to eu/uk included. I can also record some soundclips if someone is really interested.
PeteHantzios Posted September 3, 2018 Author Posted September 3, 2018 1100 pounds/1220 euros shipped to eu/uk.
PeteHantzios Posted September 14, 2018 Author Posted September 14, 2018 Last minute cash-is-king bump, before I take the plunge and trade it with something special from the states.
